This past Friday I went to the It’s All Welland Good event, in where else but, Welland.

It was an event to celebrate Welland’s tremendous potential and review past successes.

Illumination Cruise at Niagara Falls – GoPro Footage

I brought my trusty GoPro to the Night Cruise at the Falls the other night.  GoPro is typically not the best with low light situations but i think for what its worth this came out ok.  I would have loved to have gotten closer, I wonder if there is a super up close tour you can get on…hmmmmm.  Now one thing i’ll also add to this story, the video was sped up about 300x.  The boats are pretty slow and it made for a very long video so I had to tweak it a bit.

Make sure you watch it in 1080p HD though!

Awesome Evening Cruise below Niagara Falls

Special thanks to Niagara Cruises for hooking me up with a fantastic evening Falls Illumination Tour.

The view was awesome!  So cool being so close.  My camera gear didn’t like getting wet though so ignore any water spots on the photos lol.

Octoberfest Sausage season & Flakey Blueberry treats

In honor of Octoberfest I thought I would start a bit early and grill up some sausages from my amazing, local butcher. They make the best sausage and while in there today saw they had some Octoberfest links.  Pairing this with a sweet French loaf from Spinoza’s Bakery in Welland this made for a great meal.

Deep. Fried. Oreos. Well, generic Oreos.

I picked up a deep  fryer a little while back to try some amazing French Fries.  Since then I have used it a few times.  Each time the wrath from my wife about the smell grew larger. This time I have decided to cook outside.  It was a nice day so why not.

Niagara Food Festival – please roll me home…

What a great festival this was again this year! There were some new vendors this year that I was not expecting to see, and others that I was sad to not see there.

Sadly I was a bit too busy eating to take photos this year but I did get enough to warrant a post lol 🙂

Dain City Family Day 2014

This year was like no other and the Labor Day weekend ended off with a bang!

The day was filled with fun and wrapped up with an amazing fireworks display.

Have a look at the video I put together with some footage and photos I took.

The video in this video was taken with a GoPro that was placed just about 14 feet from where the fireworks are being launched. So basically looking straight up. Most times you see fireworks from a distance and this will change your whole perspective.  And the still images in the video were taken with a Canon DSLR. Unedited.  #GoPro should make this a video of the day.

Make sure you watch in 1080p.

Dain City French Toast

There is a small town in Ontario that I frequent from time to time.  Dain City.  Had some French Toast there once.  This is the story of that French Toast.

Here is what you need to make these sick French  Toasts.

  • 2 cups of milk
  • 3 eggs
  • a few tablespoons of cinnamon
  • an awesome stick of bread that is about 2 days old (mine was courtesy of Lucas at Spinosa’s for the Spinosa Stick)
  • tiny whisk
  • bowl
  • frying pan
  • maybe some things i forgot but will remember as we go on….

Lay it out all nice on a cutting board and admire it. Maybe take a selfie with the ingredients and post them in the comments.

Niagara Craft Beer Festival

Had no real plans to stop by this event but hunger drew us in.  Having just went to a Motorcycle Show & Shine, then a Custom Car show we sort of worked up an appetite.

Geographically there was not much around but I remembered about the Craft Beer Festival that a few of my friends had talked about.

  • It was downtown.
  • It had beer.
  • It had food.
  • It had an admission.

At the gate I mentioned I was writing for a Lifestyle blog.   The doors swung open for us.  Excellent.
